Space I.E. “Nothing “ is now accepted to be the basis of everything in the universe.
Chadwick in 1932 identified the neutron and noticed how empty the atom is.
New Gravity accepts this and suggests that since space moves this is the natural way that energy is acquired. Since motion sooner or later causes collisions some of these will cause spin. Space spinning pulls more space to itself and this is what we know as gravity.
So far as earth is concerned all gravity is directed to earth each microscopically sized movement finishing at the particle that started by spin. This process eventually formed greater and greater mass everywhere. In this way new properties begin to form in the greater temperature and pressure naturally starting to occur.
Critics of New Gravity ask will they need to fit extra nets to stop the streams of space carrying away the apples from their apple trees. Of course not, the direction of travel is  towards earth not random.
Because Newton always measured what actually happens, not  how it happens, there is no changing of G.  New Gravity welcomes  chapter and verse criticism, but not sarcastic throw aways.
Gravity is a pull on space and so the light from distant stars is affected by gravity from its
source  every inch of the way to the viewer. The universe is the same size it always has been. No need of expansion without explanation.
New Gravity needs no special pleading. There are no anomalies.
